  • Focus content strategy on four audiences: commercial customers, investors, media inquiries, and general public

  • Implement a fully responsive solution backed by WordPress CMS

Phase 1

Prototyping

Solegear needed a better way to tell their story for potential investors, and they needed a medium for communicating and showcasing that they were expanding their presence.

Advocacy and education about the importance of environmentally sustainable products and bioplastics are at the forefront of the company’s values, so we built in a core repository of transparent, self-serve social responsibility and technical resources.

Phase 2

Style Concepts

Solegear needed to bring their website to the next-generation. They came to Forge and Smith with a logo, a brand colour and some supporting icons, but the rest of the brand required a refresh. The goal was to create an engaging, easy-to-use design for an established company, without being stuffy or corporate. Clean, bold typography was used to allow for a strong hierarchy of information, and icons were to be an important visual element throughout the site.

Phase 3

Bringing It All Together

The new site showcases the amazing things that can be produced with their plastics. It also helps keep visitors apprised to news, developments, and improvements in technology, and it engages companies to recognize that being environmentally responsible doesn't have to hurt their bottom line. If you want to know more about what Solegear is up to, check out the finished site.

Simplicity, clarity, and responsibility are three words that play very strongly into Solegear's ethos. By moving to bioplastics and plant-based products you can shrink your carbon footprint, remove hazardous chemicals, and increase renewable resources.

It's pretty simple, but oil-based plastics still present an overwhelming environmental problem. Solegear is working to change that, and the new site reflects these values.
