Phase 1

Prototyping

We were stoked to help BuilderWorks (formerly MicroWorks) rebrand and redesign! Blake and his company have the same work ethic, purpose, and goals as Forge and Smith, so we knew that this project would be the perfect fit.

This was a two-stage website project, because the first step was to work through developing a brand strategy, new logo, and brand guidelines. Once everything was documented, it was time to apply it to a new web design. The focus was on presenting the services, process, and BuilderWorks story in a way that’s sophisticated yet approachable.

Phase 2

Style

A key aspect of bringing the new BuilderWorks brand to life was capturing Blake’s (and his team’s) care for both clients and the environment. The new logo, palette, page designs, and typography all needed to evoke an innovative-yet-everyman local business. We blended outdoorsy colours reminiscent of the North Shore’s gorgeous scenery, and authentic photos of the team’s exceptional craftsmanship.

Phase 3

Bringing It Together

The new BuilderWorks site balances a friendly, earthy aesthetic with an engaging, professional design. Your eye is immediately drawn to exciting photos of finished projects, and a sense of trust is quickly established as you click through their projects and services. The ‘process’ page speaks to their value on communication and transparency through a renovation project. And the photos of the team throughout the site foster an authentic, local vibe.
