About the Company

Christian Thomson is the successful entrepreneur who created the Errant Travel surf company and Marwick Marketing agency. He provides business coaching and digital strategy services to help other entrepreneurs grow their businesses.

Objectives
  • Establish trust and authority through strong content strategy and brand storytelling
  • Ensure site architecture and navigation enable easy browsing and a frictionless experience
  • Drive visitor-to-contact conversions through content strategy and UX design
  • Create navigation and content relationships between Blog, Coaching, and Tools sections
  • Implement a fully responsive solution backed by WordPress CMS
Phase 1

Prototyping

The Christian Thomson web design and development project was something a little different for Forge and Smith – he’s a peer in the digital strategy world, owning a marketing agency and offering several similar services. He had the vision, and the content, to launch “a gold mine of information for starting, running and growing a business in 2019 – not 1989”. He needed our team to build it.

The new Christian Thomson site would be a resource for new business owners to find tools and tips needed to grow their companies. Content strategy was the driving force behind the site structure. Our goal was to create an engaging user experience that helps visitors discover and move seamlessly between related content, driving toward conversions.

Phase 2

Style

Christian had fun brand assets ready to incorporate in the new design. The bright, beach-y colours and and surf imagery evoke the relaxed, one-on-one vibe of his personal brand and business style. The site design feels modern, vivid, and refreshing, and is unified around his story.

Phase 3

Bringing it All Together

The finished website is a personal, engaging platform for Christian to showcase his path to success and expertise. The WordPress CMS makes it easy to deliver a steady stream of business growth tools and advice for potential clients, including gated content for lead generation. The blog area provides a searchable content bucket for current and future business vlogs.
