We’ve been a WordPress agency since 2011, and a low-code agency since we engineered Refoundry in 2022. Expanding the Gutenberg editor within WordPress empowers our clients to edit elements of their websites normally locked in the theme or otherwise hard-coded. And it means we can build faster, to deliver shorter projects.
We don’t want our clients to be dependent on us to edit page layouts, change styles, or create new templates. You should be able to do all of that, and more, within WordPress. And that’s what we deliver.

Yes. WordPress powers around 40% of the internet for good reason. It’s scalable, SEO-friendly, and any developer can work on it, even if they didn’t build your site. That’s why we created Refoundry—traditional, hard-coded WordPress wasn’t cutting it for us, but there was no other platform that could do what we needed and meet our quality standards.
Low-code web development systemizes part of traditional web development, meaning developers don’t custom-code the entire site from scratch. Sites are quicker to build, often resulting in more affordable projects and quicker “kickoff to launch” paths.
Site owners benefit from nothing being locked in the site’s code. Within a visual editor you can change global styles or specific instances, copy/paste entire sections to other pages, and even update layouts on templates.
All of our websites are built on the platform we engineered, Refoundry, which expands upon the Gutenberg WordPress backend. It’s still open source code, any WordPress developer can work with it. We listened to years of client feedback, and created Refoundry to give them what they wanted: freedom from the limitations of traditional, hard-coded WordPress.
No, we don’t outsource web development. All of our engineers and developers work full-time for Forge and Smith.
We will not do web development work on a website that we didn’t build. But we can be engaged to do all of the strategic and creative work up to and including the UI (visual) design stage, and hand the files over to another developer to build and launch.
No. We do not use AI for any aspect of our web development work.
