About the Project
Adrenaline is one of Canada’s premier tattoo and piercing studios. Their three locations across Vancouver and Toronto focus on creating positive customer experiences, and selling unique products from uncommon brands.
Objectives
- Create accessible and user friendly artist portfolios, leveraging integrated Instagram feeds
- Improve overall user experience to make the site more personalized and engaging
- Build out locations pages and add geolocation filtering to tailor the content experience
- Improve brand equity and online reach through enhanced brand storytelling
- Implement a fully responsive solution backed by WordPress CMS

Phase 1
Prototyping
We were excited when Adrenaline contacted us to redesign their website. Not only does most of the Forge and Smith team have tattoos, but we knew it would be an exciting visual story. Adrenaline has been around for over 20 years, and have a great reputation. Their old website wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t serving the optimal experience for their audience.
This web design project was content-driven. We wanted to add more depth and visual appeal to the artist pages, services, and brands, while preserving their existing branding and SEO.
Phase 2
Style
Adrenaline has clear, well-established visual branding. We took their striking palette of black, white, and yellow and added more depth using dark grey for page backgrounds. The layouts and navigation are cleaner, with much more room to use big photos of their artists’ work.
Phase 3
Bringing it All Together
The new Adrenaline website is more fun, more visual, and easier to navigate than ever before. Visitors can quickly set their location and view customized content, or use the smooth filtering options on the Artists and Blog pages to quickly find what they seek. The new Blog landing page design makes their educational content more useful resource.
