About the Company

Seniors Services Society of BC is a non-profit agency located in New Westminster, providing local and provincial programs and services to support vulnerable older adults to live as independently as possible.

Objectives
  • Improve overall aesthetic and user experience and to make the site more engaging
  • Improve overall site architecture and navigation to enable easier browsing and a more frictionless experience
  • Create a more accessible and user-friendly housing finder
  • Establish SEO foundations for future growth and leverage organic traffic
  • Implement a fully responsive solution backed by WordPress CMS
Phase 1

Prototyping

The Seniors Services Society is the only organization in BC working with seniors to help them find housing. When the organization came to us about redesigning their outdated website, a big part of that project would be improving the user experience of their BC housing finder database.

Whether it’s a senior or a family member using the database, they need to easily find housing options and understand how to apply. We set out to create an integrated Google Maps experience with advanced filters to help quickly narrow searches. Our other priority was cleaning up the website’s cluttered menus to make valuable resources easier to find.

Phase 2

Style

Another big part of this website redesign was improving the overall look and feel, to make it a more positive experience for their vulnerable audience. Their old site looked clinical and outdated, but by adding soft greys to their branded blue and red palette, the pages quickly became much more gentle and inviting. Fresh, authentic photography rounds out the new design.

Phase 3

Bringing it All Together

The new Seniors Services Society website is a fresh, inviting experience that’s easier on the eyes. The improved housing finder database provides clear, accessible search filters to help seniors and family members locate the best housing options. And the deeper and better-optimized content experience provides more of the Society’s story while giving them an SEO boost.
