SEO is still extremely important for your website’s success. SEO efforts should not be paused to chase after AI optimization tactics. 

AI tools scrape search results to cite sources—your site has to be indexed to be found by them. SEO focuses on producing quality content with a strong structure; this type of content is more likely to be cited by AI tools. And a big part of SEO work is demonstrating experience, expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness (E-E-A-T). This, too, makes your content more likely to be cited by generative engines. 

This is all stated in plain language in Google’s own documentation. Optimizing for generative AI search is optimizing for the search experience, and that’s still SEO. GEO and AEO are new labels for existing work, no separate disciplines. Google’s spam policies now cover attempts to manipulate AI answers.

For additional scope we provide support like in-depth keyword research for service pages, writing image alt text, renaming image files, and full optimized copywriting.

But even with all of that work done on your site before launch, you can’t “set it and forget it.” SEO has a lot of moving parts that require careful monitoring, consistency, and adapting to external factors, otherwise your site’s traffic can start to erode. The 12-month window after your redesigned site launches is a huge opportunity to drive major results, and we want that for our clients. Your success is our success. That’s why we offer SEO as a retainer service, on top of the work we do at launch.

We don’t make guarantees about SEO work, and you shouldn’t believe anyone who says they can get you a specific ranking, a percent increase, or hit a date target related to rankings or traffic. We will always do our best to help you reach those types of goals, but we can’t promise results. There are too many external factors that we can’t control.

AI is useful for working through large volumes of search data and identifying patterns that are worth investigating. It’s unreliable at knowing what any of it means for your business. For example, it can’t tell if your top-ranking keywords are for a section of your site that isn’t serving your primary audience, or that a competitor’s approach would be wrong for your goals.
