About the Organization
Macdonald Commercial Real Estate Services specializes in solutions for commercial sales and leasing. They have expert brokers and offices around Greater Vancouver and in Victoria, combining local expertise with personalized service for their clients.
Objectives
- Align with New Branding: Ensure the Commercial and Property Management subsites match Macdonald Realty’s updated, modern branding.
- Easier Content Management: Move to a more flexible WordPress setup, allowing internal teams to update content easily without needing developers.
- Improve User Experience: Simplify navigation and design to make it easier for clients to find information and property listings.
- Streamline Property Listings: Shift property listings to embedded platforms for easier updates and better management.
- Enhance Storytelling: Use improved visuals and content to better share Macdonald Realty’s story, expertise, and values with clients.
Prototyping
Macdonald’s team engaged us to redesign and rebuild two websites, for their commercial property services and their main property management business. The commercial site was overall straightforward due to properties being managed on a third-party platform, but it was getting significantly deeper content areas – such as a new Services page, more storytelling content about the business, a new FAQs page, and a new Careers page.
Our goal was to design a fully rebranded site with quick paths to search for properties, learn about services, and contact Macdonald Commercial. The secondary objective was to showcase Macdonald’s 80+ years of experience, providing more trust and credibility content for both users and search engines.
Style
Macdonald Commercial’s old site had a heavily outdated look and feel that didn’t evoke a modern, forward-thinking leader in Vancouver’s booming real estate industry. We worked with them to develop a richer palette, with more use of beige and human photography to create a more welcoming mood.
Bringing it All Together
The new Macdonald Commercial site is spacious, attractive, and really demonstrates their depth of expertise. The new Services area provides SEO-friendly information about what they offer. And because the site is built on our visual site builder tool, Refoundry, it will be easy for their team to update as they continue to grow.
