About the Organization
The BC Alliance for Healthy Living (BCAHL) is a group of organizations focused on improving health in BC at every stage of life. They advance health-promoting policies, programs, services and environments that support physical and mental well-being.
Objectives
- Improve the overall aesthetic and user experience and make the site more engaging
- Improve site architecture and navigation to enable easier browsing and a more frictionless experience
- Reorganize and expand the current Blog and Resource content for more accessible browsing and searching
- Build on SEO foundations to increase search engine traffic and drive future growth
- Implement a fully responsive solution backed by WordPress CMS
Prototyping
BC Alliance for Healthy Living has been doing their vital work since 2003, and their website reflected that: a huge volume of educational content that had become difficult to manage, and an outdated aesthetic.
The biggest focus of this website redesign was creating an improved information architecture to help visitors more easily navigate the site and digest information. Even a small change like relabeling key menu items for clarity would have a big impact on improving the user experience.
Style
BCAHL had bright blue and green branding that was fun to work with. We added tints and shades to their palette, and used gradients and shapes based on their logo to give the site movement – just like the healthy activities they promote.
Bringing it All Together
The new BCAHL site tells visitors who they are and what they do, and makes it quick and easy to find resources. It’s got a playful, healthy energy that fits their purpose. And the site is built on our lightweight, low-code site builder, Refoundry, so it can flex and adapt as much as needed while their resources continue to expand.v
Built by Refoundry
Refoundry is a low-code site builder plugin created by Forge and Smith’s owner, Shawn Johnston, and our team of engineers. We’ve been building all of our websites on it since late 2022. It empowers our clients with total creative freedom in WordPress, and the ability to more easily grow and scale their sites.
