Prototyping
The Bluewater Adventures team radiates authenticity and a deep passion for environmental stewardship. Their old website did a good job of communicating that by text, but their visual design and aesthetic were heavily outdated. They came to us looking for a visual refresh as well as improved navigability and overall usability.
Although the most exciting part of the project was the UI design work, we still took the opportunity to build out new content areas for deeper storytelling, and recommend some high-level content restructuring. This included expanding the Schedule & Pricing area, expanding adventure-related content, expanding ship detail pages, and adding new areas for sustainability and ecotourism content.
Style
We fleshed out Bluewater Adventures’s branding to a deeper colour palette, and updated their typography. Our designer used large, full-width parallax image treatments to showcase their stunning photography, and subtle background textures like waves and trees to evoke the feeling of being out in the wilderness.
Bringing it All Together
The new Bluewater Adventures website is visually stunning, and makes you want to take off on the trip of a lifetime. It’s brimming with educational content to help guests plan for their voyages. And because it’s built on our low-code plugin, Refoundry, their team can easily add and manage the itineraries and the custom sailing availability tables on each itinerary.
Built with Refoundry
Refoundry is a low-code site builder plugin created by Forge and Smith’s owner, Shawn Johnston, and our team of engineers. We’ve been building all of our websites on it since late 2022. It empowers our clients with total creative freedom in WordPress, and the ability to more easily grow and scale their sites.
