MicroWatt needed a new online look to match their new physical location, being Calgary Alberta. As a company that is well established with a ton of experience, they required a modern website in both functionality and style.

Style Concepts

One of the challenges was building a platform that could support a large range of products and product categories, while making it easy to navigate between products. To assist with this task, we envisioned a robust catalog capable of handling a massive number of products, but with user experience at the forefront as well. Features incorporated to assist with visual appeal included parallax scrolling, a side navigation menu with breadcrumb, strong graphics, and custom icons.

Bringing it all Together

The final website design allows MicroWatt to highlight their three business groups in the expansion of their range of services: Life Safety Products, LifeCycle Safety Solutions, and Enterprise Mobility Systems. A custom RFQ eCommerce system allows their clients to easily add products and services to a quote with the click of a button. This process is integrated with SalesForce to streamline their internal process. Most importantly, the site is capable of flawlessly handling and presenting a large amount of content on every platform, reinforcing MicroWatt’s role as an experienced leader in safety.

The team at Forge and Smith nailed it for MicroWatt. Beautiful design and slick functionality with an iterative approach that still allowed flexibility for a little client induced scope-creep. Would recommend them in a heartbeat.
