Phase 1

Prototyping

It’s not often we get to design a brand new custom website, so we were excited to work with Vancouver’s own Best Film on creating a usable product catalogue for their technical fabrics.

The goal for this web design project was to set their offering up for success. Their customers are on busy film sets, and need to quickly check their products to see if what they want is available. But a huge part of what Best Film does is creating speciality products, so their content also needed quick paths to making those requests.

Phase 2

Style Concepts

Best Film came to us with a logo, but no other branding. We had a great opportunity to work with them on developing a signature style. They wanted their site to have a punk aesthetic, so we created dark style tiles with a worn, rugged look. Splashes of vivid red are used to instantly draw the eye to clickable elements and other important page content. Even the font, Arvo, is hardcore.

Phase 3

Bringing it all together

The brand new Best Film website is exactly what it was intended to be: a quickly accessible product catalogue that showcases their custom capabilities. The UX design and navigation in particular make it easy to hunt for a specific product, or to discover their additional services. Immediately after launch, the new site showed strong user engagement with a low bounce rate and a high contact form conversion rate.
