About the Project

Alpine Rafting is a whitewater rafting and adventure company on the Kicking Horse River, in the interior of British Columbia. Based in Golden, this intrepid crew of guides have taken over 110,000 people down the wild river aboard rafts, kayaks, paddle-boards and more.

  • Improve brand equity and online reach through branded storytelling
  • Improve overall site architecture and navigation to enable easier browsing and a more frictionless experience
  • Create a highly usable, searchable and browse-able product catalogue with easy social sharing options and clear conversion points
  • Implement social case studies to improve trust and credibility and create better conversion
  • Grow social engagement and referral traffic
  • Implement a fully responsive solution backed by WordPress CMS with integrated RezGo functionality
Phase 1

Prototyping

When Alpine Rafting approached us, they already had a firmly established brand and a loyal customer base. They wanted to make sure that visitors, friends, and clients could easily find what they were looking for based on their interests.

The immediate focus was on improving their website conversion, making the storytelling within the site more cohesive, and making the registration path for their trips more visually appealing and intuitive. Together we came up with a stronger overall experience in presenting and exploring products, which centralized the trips and made the site more engaging and simpler to navigate.

Phase 2

Style

Alpine Rafting has a storied history, and a lot of great testimonial material from the years of experiences they’ve helped build for their riders. What they needed was a site that really captured the excitement and the beauty of their river adventures. We worked with Alpine to turn their abundance of photos into powerful visual storytelling through bold typography and rich colours. A picture is worth a thousand words, so we let their pictures do most of the talking on their site.

Phase 3

Bringing it All Together

Even if you’ve never seen winding, mountain river rapids or towering granite peaks, Alpine Rafting’s new design immerses you in the adventurous possibilities of the Kicking Horse River. The fully integrated Rezgo trip tool makes booking a trip quick and effortless. Plentiful image galleries, guide and client-offered testimonials, and first-hand accounts will tempt even the most timid of travellers to visit Golden and take a spin on the mighty Kicking Horse.
